We are Teri and Ken Smyth. We were both raised in SF Bay area. We married in 1989, and our love affair is still going to this day. We raised two sons on our Walnut Creek property, where we still live.

We lived a typical suburban lifestyle for many years. Teri always maintained flower gardens, fruit trees, and a small vegetable garden while Ken held down a day job as an IT consultant. Then in 2012 we decided to tear out the landscape in front & back of the property, and we converted everything to mixed garden beds. The gardens quickly expanded on all sides of the property, then finally in 2019 the back 1,500 sq ft of the property was converted to the chicken run.

SFF packs lots of fun stuff into a small acreage. We do it because we love it. We don't make a nickel, but we have dirt under our fingernails every day, and that feels good. We could do without the chicken poo on our shoes, but no sense in complaining because there's no whining allowed on the farm.
